PICTON EXCURSION
A rousing Maori welcome, as an duction to the carnival which will be proceeding at Picton, will await the passengers by the Wahine's Boxing Day excursion. She will leave Wellington at a a.m.. and running across the open Strait in under an hour and a half, will reach her destination up Queen Charlotte Sound bv about 10.45 a.m. A train will leave directly afterward for Blenheim, returning in time to catch the vessel Detore her departure on the back trip. In adtution, there will be the attractions of the carnival on the Kspjanade, and. of the many charming picnic places in the neighbourhood of the port. Special launches have been arranged to run to points of interest about the upper part of thd Sound. The Wahine is timed to leave Picton again at 2.30 p.m. for Wellington. which she should reach a little after 5 p.m.
