Progressive Pahiatua FINE CAMPING GROUND ■- 1 : '* Pahiatua, the centre of the progressive Bush district, obta ins considerable importance from the fact that it is the market town of the district Of recent years the town has expanded almost out of all recognition, and is now a flourishing business area, with a wealth of attractions for the visitor. At Carnival Park the motorist will find one of the finest camping grounds in the Dominion. Adjoining it is a beautiful domain carved out of a .piece of virgin bush and in several glades are beds of exotic flowers most effectively blended with the verdant growth of the surrounding bush. In one of the larger
openings is a small lake on which water-birds abound, and a short distance away is a rose garden which, in season, presents a profusion of colours, A number of interesting drives,may be made from the town. The district is noted for its fine fishing.and shooting, so that in this direction the visitor cap be assured of good sport. All summer pastimes are well catered for in the town. The wide main street presents a pleasing appearance with its six garden squares extending right down the centre. The wideness of the street is accounted for by the fact that it was laid out in expectation of the railway running through the town. -
