DINNER & HOUSE PARTY
J.M.C.A. Residents’ Gathering I The-Y.M.C.A. resident’s Christmas dinner and- house party was held on "Wednesday evening in the association rooms. Mr. D. L. Gibson, chairman of the residents’ committee, presided at dinner and proposed the toast of “The Y.M.C.A.,’ which was replied to by Mr.. R. H. Nimmo, president of the association. The toast of 'The Matron and Staff” was sponsored by Mr.‘-W. B. Ross, Mrs. A. Shepherdresponding,... An adjournment was then made to the lounge, where a programme of variety entertainment was rendered by residents and friends. Miss M. Connor recited, and Miss D. Story sang, while Messrs. D. Dyer and D. Gibson played a pianoforte duet. Some card magic was given by Mr. G. W. Wiley, and a pianoforte solo by Mr. 0. Brun t.’A number of brief sketches by various residents, under the direction of Mr. G. C. Sherwood, completed an interesting programme, following which the guests participated in games and dancing in the gymnasium. Supper concluded nn enjoyable'evening. .
