Interest in Government loans was unabated, all issues being quoted for. Goldsbrough ' Morts were steady at 32/6, no sellers. ' National Mortgage “A’s” hardened to 62/6. and the “B’s” were unchanged at 30/-, with no'response. Auckland Gas were firmer, the paid at 23/7 and the contributing at 17/3. i A still firmer tendency was shown by insurance shares. Queenslands moved up to 61/6. and Standards were 6d. bet- ■ ter at 61/-. New Zealands were un- ■ changed at 56/9. South British were . 3d. off at 76/9, but sellers asked 78/-. Westport Coals were active and firm, three sales being reported at 13/9 and more wanted at that price.
