BEST THIS YEAR

Fishing in Past Week SPORT AT TOKAANU Dominion Special Service. Tokaanu, December 1. The past week’s fishing, particularly at the Delta Camp, has been easily the best this season. Unlimited numbers of excellent fish are to be had. Since the opening day there has also been a very marked improvement in the condition. Hardly a poor-condi-tioned fish or “slab” is now to be had. There have also been some very nice flshi taken from the lower reaches of the Tongariro River, up as far as the Cherry Pool. The fish have not commenced to run up the river in any quantity yet, as the recent light shbwers have not been sufficient inducement. There is an abundance of fish food in these localities, including tlie Tokaanu bays, where excellent sport has been afforded many of the trolling parties. A noted local angler has taken just on 400 fish from the Delta Camp waters, which are still the most popular rendezvous for visiting anglers. Arrangements have now been completed by two prominent overseas agencies that the Tokaanu fishing will in future be included in their itinerary. Many visitors continue to arrive, and the weather conditions have been good.
