Miss Lilian Fumiltou, of Oamaru, accompanied by Guides Bowie and Souter, made a transverse crossing of the three peaks of Mt Cook in 17 hours. Good weather was experienced.
Miss Hamilton is believed to be the first woman to make flic trip from the Hooker on the west side to the Tasman side.
