A grimy zvisp of bunting
’Neath weeping skies of grey,
Flapping at the halyards
In the North Sea and the Bay
Commongis the seagull
Round about the world
The nomad ships of England pass.
Their red ensign unfurled.
The lighthouse keeper knozvs them
/l.v they zvallozu past his feet,
The ceaseless march of Empire,
