A DANGER POINT

Palliser Road Entrance The big improvement which has been made in Palliser Road serves to emphasise the inadequacy of the entrance to that road from .Shannon Street. This is nothing more than a narrow right-of-way between two houses—altogether too confined a space for the greatlyincreased traffic which the improved Palliser Road has Induced. To make matters worse, the entrance debouches on to the steepest part of Shannon Street, which is also so narrow a thoroughfare that a sharp turn is necessary on the part of motor drivers to avoid an accident. Not infrequently when two big cars meet at that point, some skilful manoeuvring has to be done before the way is clear. Some live or six years ago the matter of improving the road at the point mentioned came in for some attention, but while a considerable sum of money has been spent in widening and dressing up Palliser Road, its western entrance remains a problem.
