A tribute to the manner in which the New Zealand boxing team acquitted Itself against the Australian representatives was paid by the manager, Mr. George Bush, who, with the members of the team, returned from Australia bv the Wanganella. New Zealand t'on six matches to Australia’s four In contests held in Brisbane, and, according to Mr. Bush, a very high standard of boxing was revealed. 'Tlie team returned with 10 silver cups and numerous medals.

Arrangements have been practically completed for an Australian boxing team t_o visit New Zealand next September or October. Mr. Bush said the Australians had also agreed to the inclusion of a light-heavyweight class in their championshins. A feature of the tournament was that not one New Zealander was ever knocked off his feet, Mr. Bush continued. This, in itself, was a tribute to the defence of the Dominion representatives. The trainer, Mr. Donoghue, had worked hard in getting them into first-class condition. Williams had unfortunately contracted influenza in Brisbane, and, although he made a good recovery, he was still too weak at the time of the tournament to be permitted to enter the ring. McKay and R.
