FIGHT NEAR BANGKOK

Capture of Aerodrome

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright

Singapore, October 12.

A rising has occurred among troops in Eastern Siam, who have captured the Donmuang aerodrome, which is the regular landing stage for air services to Europe. Thirteen kilometres from Bangkok the rebel troops encountered Government forces from the capital, and firing occurred. There are no details.

Martial law has been proclaimed. The King and Queen of Siam are staying at the seaside. Armed guards have been placed at the Legations and foreign banks. The population at Bangkok is quiet.

The Siamese Consul at Singapore expects the Government to restore normality in two or three days.
