HUNT FOR MURDERER
Offer of £2OO Reward
Sydney, October 12.
The Government, is offering £2OO reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the murderer of the bookmaker John Stanilaus Keane, aged 37, whose body, with three bullet wounds in the head and neck, was found near a pavement at Mascot early on the morning of September 20. The police are of opinion that Keane was the victim of a gangster outrage. Apparently his murderers “took him for a ride,” shot him at close range, as witness the powder marks on his face, and dumped the body where it was found. Two shillings were found in the pockets. The victim lived at Undercliffe, a suburb four miles distant.
