Venue Of Daffodil Show
The secretary of the New Zealand National Daffodil Society advised the Wellington Horticultural Society at this week’s meeting that Wellington had been selected as the venue of the North Island Daffodil Sho to be held in September, 193-1. The report on the Spring Show showed a surplus of £l4/10/6, and gratification was expressed at this result. The president thanked all members, exhibitors and all tluse who had put up special exhibits. Following on the executive meeting, talks and displays were given on behalf of the rhododendron, pansy and viola circles. Mr. T. E. Y. Seddon gtjve a talk on rhododendrons. Mr. G. C. Clarke dealt with pansies and violas and Mr. D. Gt McGirr with hybridisation. The three speakers dealt with their subjects in an interesting manner and the talks yere highly appreciated by a large audience. The room was bedecked with endless varieties of rhododendrons, pansies, violas, and other flowers in season.
