RED CROSS STUDENTS

Dance at St. Francis Hall

The St. Francis Hall ballroom was decorated with hanging lanterns and streamers last night, when a dance wag held there by the Red Cross students. The floor was excellent and the music splendid, and the large number of dancers enjoyed the evening immensely. The hostesses were: Lady Luke (who wore black satin), Mesdaines 0. 11. Chapman (black velvet), G. Hendry (black velvet with matching coatee), G. Galloway (apricot lace and ninon), and Locbpre (apple-green lace).

The supper, a delicious, home-made one, was donated and served by the V.A.D.’s and their friends. The whole evening was organised by the girls of the Red Cross Society, and they are to be congratulated on its undoubted success. Iceland poppies and glowing colendulas vied in their brightness with the gay scene in the ballroom. The whole atmosphere of tlie evening was one of complete enjoyment.

Mr. and Mrs. W. Crawford Burt, formerly of Khandallah, will leave Sydney for Wellington to-day. Mr. and Mrs. Burt have been residing in Sydney for the past eighteen months. Mr. Burt was formerly president of the Khaudallah Bowling Club.
