ELASTIC CHARTERS
Destination of Wheat
HOW MYSTERIES ARISE
By Telegra on.-—Press Association. Christchurch, October 11.
Mystery as to the destination of wheat exported from New Zealand was discussed by Mr. W. W. Mulholland in giving evidence to the Tariff Commission to-day. The purchaser, he said, who usually found the ship in which the wheat was carried, made an agreement with the shipping company which allowed, him great latitude with regard to the port of delivery. The charters allowed delivery either in Europe or in the East.
There had frequently been sensational reports, but any mystery arose because the seller did nof know the destination of the wheat and neither did the purchaser, because in the course of his business he worked all ports in the world.
