SUCCESS IN CANADA
Wellington College Old Boy
Reference to the literary works of Mr. Diamond Jenness, an old boy of the college, was made by the headmaster, Mr. W. A. Armour, at the Wellington College Boai'd of Governors meeting yesterday. Mr Armour said that he had received a copy of Mr Jenness’s book, “The Indians of Canada,” from the Canadian Minister of Mines. Twp other works by this author were in the college library. Mr. Jenness, who was born in Wellington in 1886, distinguished himself at Wellington College, which he at tended in 1899 and at Victoria University College. He gained distinction also at Oxford University and was a member of the Canadian Government Sypoilitjon to the Arctic from 1913-16. He served in France during the war, and sipce 1919 has been ethnologist of tho Canadian Government, which he Represented at Pacific science conferences in 1929 and this year. In 1929 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Besides his many scientific reports to the Canad lap Government, Mr. Jenness has con trlbuted articles to several journals.
