It was reported at a meeting of the management committee of the Sedgley Boys’ Home yesterday that one boy nad been placed in work during the month, and that one new boy had been admitted. The reports on boys who . had left the home .during, the past twelve months were excellent without .exception, The farm report stated that the weather conditions had greatly improved production, and that everything was going on very well.

District Settler Farowolted. Mr. and Mrs. H. Nitz, of “Kaiwhata,” To Wharau, who are leaving the district to take up their residence in Masterton. were the guests of honour at a farewell gathering of settlers held at “Kammerstein,” the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kummer, recently. On behalf of tho settlers of the district, the Rev. J. C, Abbott, of Tinui, presented Mr. and Mrs. Nitz with a tea sot. Mr. Nitz was also tho recipient of a pipe. A pleasant evening was spent, those present playing bridge and dancing.
