“LINEN” TEA
On Wednesday afternoon Mrs. C. Martin and Miss Eileen McCarthy gave n “linen” tea for Miss Mollie Rutter, whose marriage takes place to-day. The party was held at Miss McCarthy’s home on Kelburn Parade, and the rooms were decorated with a profusion of lovely spring flowers. Mrs. Martin wore a black and white figured ninon dress, and Miss Eileen McCarthy was in cornflour blue crinkle crepe. Miss Mollie Rutter, who was looking very smart in a navy costume and hnt with a stonemarten fur. received many beautiful and useful gifts for her linen cupboard. Those present were: Mrs. Rennie, Mrs. F. Petre, Mrs. Stout (Hawke’s Bav). Mrs. Whitman, Misses B. and J. Forbes (Cheviot), Z. nnd E. Chapman, K. Kennedy, G. Booth, I. Bishop. N. .Hunt, F. Parker, N. Cooper. P. and J. Rvan, R. Thomson, M. and E. DiggesSmith, P. Hunter, M. Caughley, N. nnd J. Wheeler. B. and J. Thomas, J. Farrington.
