STUDENT CHARGED
Alleged Theft of Books By Telegraph.—Press Association. > Dunedin, September 14. A university student was charged in the Magistrate’s Court to-day with the theft of books valued at £5 from the Athenaeum, also with wilfully damaging an Athenaeum book. The police said that there had been a number of these offences, and produced a bundle of clippings of illustrations from magazines to indicate the extent of the damage to periodicals. Twentyfour books had been stolen. The accused, whose name was suppressed, was remanded till Wednesday on bail.
