Seatoun Tennis Club ' The annual meeting of the Seatoun Tennis Club was held recently, Mr. R. P. Cooper presiding over the good attendance of members. In moving the adoption of the annual report, the chairman made particular reference to the excellent performances of some of the club's younger players in' tournaments held during the past season, and also mentioned that it was a matter for discussion by the incoming, committee whether it was in the best interests of the club to enter a$ mhny teams in the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association’s- competitions as In the past year. The prospects for the 1933-34 season were considered to be very good, and it was reported that already several players of good standing had joined up with the club. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. W. L. Page: president, Mr. Murie; secretary, Jir. T. G. Hull; treasurer, Mr. C. W. Morrison; committee, Mrs. J. K. Smith, Mrs. T. Wright, Misses S. Bell and E. Grubb, Messrs. R. P. Cooper (chairman), J. K. Smith, K. Rothville, and G. Lauchlan; selection committee, Miss E. Bell andJMessrs. J. K. Smith and R. P. Cooper; social committee, Misses B. Small, Simmonds, and Warring, and Messrs. N. Bedford and N. Morrison; delegates to Wellington Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs. J. K. Smith and R. P. Cooper. The annual report stated that four teams were entered in the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association’s competitions. one team playing in the second division men, one in the.second division ladies, one in the third division men. and one in the fourth division (mixed). The outstanding events of the season were the successes of N. F. N. Bedford and N.A. Morrison in the junior events of the New Zealand lawn tennis championships. N. F. N. Bedford was again successful in winning the boys’ singles, while, with his club member, N. A. Morrison, the boys’ doubles championship came to the club. In addition, N. F- N. Bedford (with Miss V. Burns, at Petone) won the junior mixed doubles championship, against N. A, Morrison and Miss J. Burns (of Petone).
