“Bohemian Girl” to be Filmed
TTERBERT WILCOX announces a change of plan by which he had deferred production of “Nell Gwynn” until later in the year, in order immediately to team Anna Neagle and Fernand Graavey In a talkie story of Balfe’s “The Bohemian Girl.” The change, Mr. Wilcox states, is the result of numerous interviews he had had with English exhibitors during his recent tour with the feminine star of “Bitter Sweet.” He had been asked to find a vehicle in which the two stars in that picture could appear together again, and in response to this request he had chosen Balfe’s beautiful work for screening. Mr. Wilcox said that many exhibitors had described the silent version of “The Bohemian Girl,” made many years ago, with Gladys Cooper and Ivor Novello in the leads, as one of the greatest box office appeal successes of its time. It is to be made as a talkie immediately, with Anna Neagle and Fernand Graavey in the leads, and Monckton Hoffe is already at work on the adaptation and dialogue in conjunction with Herbert Wilcox, who will personally direct the picture.
