A peculiarity about the Watt Cup match was that Manor Park won every one of the first six matches, while Wai<wetu won five of the other games, and squared the twelfth. It. was a close fight, as three of the games in the first six were only won by a putt on the home green. It was a good performance on jilanor Park's part to win, as Waiwetu are hard to beat on their own course. i H. Page, the Manor Park No. 1, who is not yet 19 years of age, scored his first ■win as leading player by defeating A. T. Clelland. The Waiwetu man went out in 39 to Page’s 40, and turned for home 1 up. Both played steady golf coming back, and took holes alternately. ■Page was steadier on the greens,' and at •last stood dormy one. Taking the last hole in 3 to 4, he won by 2 up. He came homo in'even 4’s, which gave him 76 for the round. Clelland took 39 for the second half, which gave him a 78. J. Ogilvie (Manor Park) had a hard fight with G. B. Ward, which only ended in a win. for the Manor Park man by a putt on the home green. I. V. O. Duncan (Manor Park) went out in 39 to stand 5 up on G. Hogg, and took the game by 4 and 3. H. J. O. Mehaffey (Manor Park) and A. J. Gwilliam fought for every hole, and were so evenly matched, that the honours only went to Manor Park by the narrowest possible margin. Both took about 84 for the round. A. S. T. Butler (Manor Park) was too steady for L. D. Matthews. Rarely off the line, Butler drove well and handled his irons and putter dexterously to take the game by 5 and 3.
