Dredging Yields

The Uliarito Five Mile Beach Gold Dredging Company, Ltd., yesterday reported to the Stock Exchange Association a return of 79 ounces 8 dwt, for 120 hours’ work last week.

(Sreymouth, August 21. Brian Boru dredge return was 390 z. for 94 hours’ working. The dredge stopped on Friday for repairs to the screen roller. This is expected to be complete by Wednesday ready to resume working probably on Thursday morning.

In the second column Is given the return, based on the last annual dividend, from investment at the quoted price. In calculating the return on shares in companies which pay their dividends outside New Zealand the exchange rates have not been taken into consideration. The return on 4 per cent. Government loans includes redemption. In the case of 3i per cent loans the return Is for interest-alone, and covers only the period for which the loans are tax-free.
