RUGBY “DONNYBROOK”
Feeling Runs High in Game at Masterton POLICE SUMMONED Dominion Special Service. Masterton, June 11. Feeling ran high in a junior grade Rugby match played at Masterton on Saturday, and it is understood that the game, in the dying stages, develojied into a regular “donnybrook.” It is alleged that a player wilfully kicked a member of thcopposing team, causing fairly serious injury. One of the injured player’s team-mates, who witnessed the incident, is stated to have struck the assailant. Following tins, the pair secured flagposts from the side-line and issued a challenge to one another. At this, stage, however, a stop was put to tlie matter. The police and a doctor were summoned, but arrived after the affair was over.
