TRIP TO TONGARIRO
People of Wellington and district are offered cheap facilities by the Tourist and Railways Departments for week-end trips to the Chateau Tongariro. The department recognise that in these days of diminished spending power the cost of a refreshing holiday has to be brought to the lowest possible point, and they have accordingly offered substantial concessions. The Chateau is well known for its modern equipment throughout, the great building. It is a very cosy hostel, with wonderful provision for comfort. The enjoyment indoors includes music, dancing and billiards. The vast snowfields are ideal for ski-ing and other merry winter sporty
