TECHNICAL STUDENTS
Palmerston North Dance Heid in the new assembly hall, the dance recently, organised by the evening students of the Palmerston North Technical School was completely successful. There was a good attendance. Under the supervision of Miss C. Mardon, the spacious hall had been strikingly decorated- with palms and ferns, while the lights were shaded with streamers of maroon and gold—the school colours. Mr. G. G. Hancox, the director, was host. A “lucky partner” dance was won by Miss Eileen Peters and Mr. R. Moxon, and a Monte Carlo waltz, by Miss Julia Shirriffs and Mr. R. Duncalf. The prizes for these were presented by Mrs. J. A. Nash, -who was wearing a black lace gown. Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., was also present. The students’ committee comprised Misses J. Barrie, in blue net; M. Beals, blue floral georgette; M. Mouldey, black floral georgette; D. Hadfield, ivory satin; also Messds. J. Leddra, R. Moxon, J, Mitchell, and I. Simpson. Mr. A. J. Richards fulfilled the duties of secretary. The ladies’ committee consisted of Mesdames A. N. Beattie, wearing black lace and georgette; T. Ellery, black embossed velvet; H. E. Connop, black georgette; J. Rowntree, brown lace; W. Mouldey, black laceffi and W. G. Peters, blue floral georgette.
