TESTED TIPS
(Copyright.) (By Vera Wise.) If the bristles of the carpet-sweeper have become soft and ineffective, take the brush out of the sweeper, wash it in warm ivater, soap, and a little soda, then rinse it in cold, sail water, leaving it to dry in the open aif. Gramophone records will lose their tone if they are allowed to become dusty or finger-marked. Use a silk or velvet duster for them—cotton is too fluff!)—or a very soft-bristled brush, and rub a little vaseline on occasionally, polishing finally with a velvet pad. Sheets of uncnunplcd newspaper laid between clothes for packing or storing will keep them from crushing better than if soft paper is used.. When ironing a garment trimmed with buttons, place them face downwards on a folded Turkish towel, so that the spaces between may be ironed more smoothly, the buttons sinking into the towel.
