Abandonment io be Advocated Cr. W. Duncan, who advocates leaving tbe Central Fire Brigade Station where it is, handed the following notice of motion to the town clerk yesterday :— “That in order to enable the council to review unfettered the question of the future site for the Central Fire Station, as well ns for other reasons, the council decide, to take no further action with regard to the proposals previously made for the establishment of a civic centre on tbe block occupied by the existing fire station and the old power-house.”
