Farmers and Taxes

Sir. —“Farmer's Fiancee’s” letter in your issue of June 7. would be humorous if it was not so tragic—for her. it may be a consolation to her to know that there are thousands of single men now in camps, among whom are a proportion for each of whom some little girl Jis patiently and loyally waiting and hoping that when better times come they will be iu a position to marry. It may further console her to know that relief workeis, out of their pittance, have to pay unemployment tax, irrespective of whether they have earned sufficient adequately to provide for their wife and children. “Farmer's Fiancee” should be grateful to her fate that was kind enough to place her in a position of being able to supply her less fortunate brethren with meals, etc., and no doubt many unfortunate Ims inwardly, called a blessing on her head. May site continue tn act the Good Samaritan, in the knowledge that good deeds will bring their own reward.—l am. etc., CHEER UP. Kbandaliab, June 7.
