TREASURE FRAUD
Spanish “Prisoner” Again MANY FRENCH VICTIMS Paris, May 2. The extent of the Spanish treasure fraud is shown by the fact that despite publicity in the newspapers of the world, about 200 people last year called at the cloakroom of the Lyons Perrache station for a trunk which they fondly hoped would contain £20,000 worth of French bank notes. Each victim had been in Spain and bad paid £3OO for a cloakroom ticket as the Spanish “prisoner” was unable to go to Lyons. The officials at the Lyons station are quite accustomed to tragi-comic scenes - when the truth is revealed.
