Meteorological Office, Wellington, Wednesday, May 8, 1933, at 4 p.m. An Intense westerly depression covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, while pressure ia high over the greater part of Australia. The forecast is for moderate to strong northerly to westerly winds, backing to sonthwesterly over most of the South Island during to-morrow. Seas moderate on the east coast; elsewhere becoming rather rough to rough in New Zealand waters. Strong north-westerly'winds, backing later to south-westerly in the eastern Tasman Sea f seas rough. wncAHlpd nnd Kauallv. with fairly general rain; some heavy ialis in westerS distrU, but’only light“nd scattered in eastern. A brief improvement, however, probable to-morrow, following a change to westerly or southwesterly winds.
