A Ewe’s Eight Lambs

Sir, —In “The Dominion” yesterday there appeared a letter from Air. Blair, of Featherston, with reference to a Suffolk ewe giving birth to five lambs, and asking if any reader was able to improve on it. Well, a Kent ewe owned by my grandfather had eight lambs in 1870. I remember my father telling me that six of them were reared, three by the ewe and three by hand, also that she died two years afterwards trying to improve on her own record. —1 am, etc., DONALD AIAINAVARING. Lower Hutt, May 2.
