Amazing scenes occurred at Liverpool, where 300,000 people awaited the return of the Everton team, who won the Football Association championship. While the jncnibers of the team were proceeding to the Lord Mayor’s civic reception, tlie police were unable to control the great crowd, who fought and struggled to get near the players. . Hundreds were knocked down ano trampled upon, and the Town Hall Was converted into a first-aid station. , Three hundred people were injured.
