ACCOUNTANT STUDENTS
Opening of 1933 Session The first meeting of the 1933 session of the Wellington Accountant Students’ Society was held last Friday, Mr. J. L. Arcus presiding. The chairman congratulated Mr. G. R. Ashbridge on his success in winning a £5 special prize awarded for his work in the final examination for the Institute of Secretaries, in December, 1932. It was announced that Mr. E. W. Hunt had intimated his intention of renewing his donation of a trophy for the annual public speaking competition. An anonymous donor had forwarded three guineas for use in connection with the encouragement of public speaking. The following fifteen-minute papers were read: —“Proxies and Quorums,” Mr. .S. M. Hobbs, F.P.A.N.Z.; “Minute Book and Private Companies,” Mr. F. H. Bass, F.P.A.N.Z.; “Allotment Procedure,” Mr. F. 11. Harris, F.R.A.N.Z; “Procedure of Making Calls,” Mr G. R Ashbridge, A.A.A., A.A.I.S.
