MATRON FAREWELLED

Function at Greytown Dominion Special Service. Greytpwn, May 2. At, the Greytown Hospital on Friday night the nursing staff were hostesses at a bridge party and dance given in honour of the retiring matron, Misa H. A. Burton. Over 200 guests were present, including many nurses trained in the past by Miss Burton. Dancing was indulged in, and two wards were turned into a bridge room and supper room respectively. The rooms and the nurses' hall were tastefully decorated. A feature of the occasion was the joint birthdays of Miss Burton and Sister K. Fitzsimmons, and two birthday cakes gaily decorated with coloured candles graced the supper tables. Mr. W. Fisher, chairman of the Hospital Board, and Mr. J. F. Thompson, local member of the Hospital Board, and Drs. H. B. Berney and G. S. Sharpe, all paid tributes to Miss Burton's sterling qualifications. Miss Burton received many farewell and birthday gifts, including a beaten brass table and vase from the staff.
