Monthly Meeting Business The monthly meeting ot the council of the New Zealand Golf Association was held on Monday. There were present Sir Alexander Roberts (chairman), Messrs. A. D. 8. Duncan, E. Page, J. 11. Drake, A. ,R. Sclauders. and G. 0. Sutton (secretary). ’Che Karamea Golf Club was duly elected a member of the association, bringing the total number of clubs on the register to 207. Tiie conditions of entry and of playing the open and amateur New Zealand championships were very fully discussed and tentatively decided upon, but it was resolved that the suggestions approved by the meeting should be circularised to all members of the council for final decision at the June meeting. It was reported that good bookings are being received for visits from Norman Fuller, the association’s professional, and that further dates were available after the end of June, for which clubs should make early application. and so take advantage of the reduced rate now being charged to clubs. Particulars of the greenkeeping research work being carried out at Palmerston North were considered at length. It was resolved to await a full report from Mr. Hobbs, the chairman of the committee, upon the work to date, together with his estimate of probable financial requests. Watt Cup Match In a Watt Cup match on the Paekakariki links during the week-end, Waimalu defeated Paekakariki by seven games to four, with one game halved, winning 35 holes to Paekakariki’s seven.
