LACK OF INTEREST
Napier Civic Elections Dominion Special Service. Napier, Alay 2. There Is a surprising lack of interest in the civic elections at Napier, especially in view of electors not having exorcised their votes since 1929. Alany thought because the city had since the earthquake been governed by the benevolent despotism of a commission the public would vigorously throw itself into an election, but the reverse is the case. Very little electioneering has been done by candidates, most of whom, with the exception of those aspiring to Ihe harbour board, have relied upon advertisements in the local papers.
