A motion favouring exemption of the Free Ambulance from the petrol tax was carried at the half-yearly meeting of the 'Wellington Bricklayers’ Union. Mcmhera criticised the enforcing of the petrol lax against a non-commcrcinl institution catering for sick people without charge.
