AUTUMN BLOOMS
Brooklyn Society’s Show SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITION Success attended the autumn show of the Brooklyn Horticultural Society, which was held ou Saturday. -The number of cutries was the largest for many years. In the chrysanthemum classes there were 150 blooms entered. The champion bloom, Win. Turner, was exhibilcd by Air. R. V. Abbott. Other features were the home section, with 100 entries, and. the school children’s class. This latter class proved of great interest to the many visitors. The president, Mr. R. V. Taylor, thanked the exhibitors for their support. He said it was most, gratifying to see such competition in the competitive class. The school children, he said, were to be congratulated on the high quality of the paintings and writing exhibited. Mr. W. Rice was the most, successful exhibitor, winning the society’s gold medal for most points. He also holds the society’s challenge trophy for most points in the summer and autumn shows, the trophy for pot plants, and the trophy for vegetables. Other trophies won were:— Chrysanthemums, Mr. R. V. Abbott and Mr. E. McGill; ladies’ decorative, Mrs. Touhy: home section, Airs. Afacaw.
