WELLINGTON REGIMENT

Annual Reunion Held Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, April 29. The annual reunion of officers and men of the Wellington Regiment of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces was held at Palmerston North last night. Major-General R. Young, C. 8., C.M.G., D. 5.0., presided over a large attendance. , Among those present were: Colonel Cunnlnghamc, D. 5.0., Major R. Hardie, Major F. H. Varnham, M.C., Colonel F. K. Turnbull, D. 5.0., and Colonel R. Evatt, M.C., members of the regiment ; the mayor, Mr. A. E. Mansford, the Rev. G. Y. Woodward, Mr. J. A. Nash. M.P., Colonel J. H. Whyte, Major Garner, and Major Bosworth. The following toast list was honoured:—“The King,” “The Chairman,” Major-General R. Young; “Headquarters Staff,” Colonel Cunninghame (replied to by the mayor, Mr. A. E. Mansford, and Canon G. Y. Woodward); “The Regiment,” Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P. (Colonel F. K. Turnbull) ; "Absent Comrades.” Qaptain Aldridge. The “Requiem” was sung by Mr. 11. Bagnall. The toast of “Other Regiments” was proposed by Mr. W. Perry, and replied to by Major Garner (Maori Wars), Major Bosworth (South African), Colonel Rose (machine-gunners), and Colonel J. H. Whyte (Mounted Rifles). This morning members of the regiment paraded to All Saints’ Anglican Church, where the reigmental colours are deposited. A special address was delivered bv the Rev. C. Woodward.
