SINGING BY CHOIR
Stainer’s “Crucifixion”
On Good Friday evening at St. Alban's Church, Eastbourne, the Lower Hutt Methodist Church Choir will sing Stainer’s “Crucifixion.” The choir, which is well known in the Hutt Valley and Wellington,' comprises twenty members. Mr. Ernest Dawson is the choirmaster and Mr. Horman the organist. The soloists will be Mr. S. Duncan, tenor, Mr. F. Ansell, bass, and Mr. Norman Smith, bass.
■ Easter at Eastbourne can be made a wonderfully happy scene if every resident enthuses at the idea of donning fancy dress and i>ersuados their friends from town to come to the bay in carnival costumes. Prizes will be given for the best fancy costumes, so now Is the time to plan designs, material, etc. Form groups and get working bees busy on their making.
During the next few weeks Eastbourne will be a hive of activity as far as parties, dances, drives, and a host of other entertainments are concerned. Enter fully into the fun: Create smiles and happy laughter. Don the carnival spirit.
