Oxford beats Cambridge LOVELOCK WINS MILE (Received March 19. 6.30 p.m.) London, March 19. Oxford beat Cambridge in an athletic contest by eight events to three. The American Stanwood is the first Oxonian to win three times in an afternoon—namely, 120 hurdles, high jump, and 220 low hurdles. The New Zealander Lovelock won the mile in 4min. ISsec. Sntermeister. (Cambridge) won the pole vault, clearing 12ft. 7in„ an English record.
