BURGLARY SEQUEL
Canvasser to Face Charge of Receiving BAIL ON A £3OO BOND A sequel to a burglary which took place at Cambridge last month was a charge of receiving drapery goods to tho value of £ll/5/-, which was preferred against Thomleigh Wilford Franks, a canvasser, aged 25, in the Police Court yesterday. On the application of Detective J. Tricklebank, a remand was granted by Mr. E. Page, S.M., until Thursday next Mr. G. Joseph, in applying for bail, requested that the name of the accused might be suppressed in the meantime. Detective Tricklebank asked that the bail be made substantial, as accused was travelling about the country in a large motor-car. He came of a respectable family in Gisborne. Ball was allowed in a personal bona of £3OO, and one surety for a like amount. , , The application for suppression oi the name was refused. Alleged Theft of Cape On a charge of having stolen a crepe-de-chine cape, valued at £2, the property of Leah Dyer, John Paton Hardy, a compositor, was. remanded until Thursday next ‘ Mr. T. P. McCarthy appeared for accused, and, on his application, bail was renewed.
