Harbour Board Fears PORTS ON THE COAST By Telegraph.—Press Association,, Wanganui, Feb. 15. The chairman of the' Wanganui Harbour Board, Mr. Hogan, having heard a rumour that the Railways Board in revising its freights is cutting them to a very low and uneconomical rate, which it is feared will have a very detrimental effect on coastal trade, telegraphed to Mr. AY. A. A’eitch, M.P., asking him to make inquiries ascertaining the truth of the rumour, and take tlie necessary steps in protection of the coastal ports. Mr. Voitch replied that he was watching the position carefully, and would take up the matter immediately to protect the public interests.
