4 ' | OUR old partners, tired and weary, after a long and strenuous B—4 journey, met at a wayside inn known as the ‘Half-way House,' ” I writes Mr. Leonard E. Jennings in his book, “Thought the Master-Key.” "The names of the partners were Mind, Health, Character and Ability. Mind was obsessed with the idea that he was the most important. Health considered that he was the strong man. Character contended that he kept lip the prestige. Ability said he did all the work. "It was not going to be easy to alter all this, but they could only try. They tried hard. It was close on midnight, however, Wore they managed to get through a few of the points they intended raising. They were just about to propose adjourning the meeting until the following day when a stranger entered the room. "The partners looked at each other in surprise and disgust, because, apart from the stranger’s intrusion, he had not knocked at the door before entering. Before they could express their disapproval he entered into conversation. Much to their surprise he asked them if they had settled their differences. They told him that they hoped to do so to-morrow. "’Why wait till to-morrow?’ he asked bluntly. And, knowing his own weakness, he continued, ‘You might be dead to-morrow”

“‘I am strong!’ remarked Health. “‘Then perhaps by the time to-morrow arrives you will have forgotten all you have done,’ he argued. “ ‘I never forget 1’ answered Mind. “ ‘Maybe you will have lost your courage,’ he suggested. “‘I never would do that!’ Character commented. “ 'Do you suggest, then, that you are not capable?’ he asked. “ ‘I am capable,’ remarked Ability. “ ‘That being the case, why not get on with the business?’ he inquired. But no one answered. He was surprised. He was not used to such lethargy, and told them so, as he arose to leave. They apologised and asked him to stay. “ ‘We believe we could settle our differences and pull together, if you would help us,’ someone added. “‘Why not join us?’ another asked. “ ‘I will join you with pleasure,’ he replied. “ ‘We will add your name to the agreement to-morrow,’ they said together. “ ‘Why wait until to-morrow?’ he asked. “ ‘Shall we do it now?’ they asked. “ ‘Certainly,’ he replied. "What is your name?” they asked. " ‘ACTION,’ he answered.”
