Aliss Kathleen Green, Khandallah, is .spending a holiday at Rotorua. Mrs. H. G. Jensen, of Lower Hutt, is on a visit to Auckland.

Dr. and Mrs. Bagley, Wellington, are visiting Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. E. McLachlan, of Wellington, are staying in Christchurch.

Mrs. Malcolm Reid, Wellington, is a guest at the Hotel Terminus, Picton. Mrs. I. Wilson and Mrs. Charles M. Taylor, Wellington, are spending a few days in Christchurch. Miss Rale Robinson has returned to Auckland after a motor tour to Wellington.

The Misses Holm, of St Mark’s Diocesan School, Newtown, have returned from a holiday at Paraparaumu. Miss Mabel de Berry, Island Bay, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. W. Vergurson, Nelson. Mrs. M. Cleaver, of Newtown, left Wellington yesterday by the Marama for Sydney on an extended tour. Mrs. J. C. E. Johnston, Tinakori Road, has returned from a visit to Mrs. Arthur Martin, Martinborough. Mrs. J. A. Henderson and family have returned to Wellington after a motor tour through the North Island. Miss Kathleen Cook, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. G. T. Shand, Island Hills, North Canterbury. • Dame Sybil Thorndike and her company passed through Wellington on Thursday on their way north. Mrs. Meynard and Miss Betty Maynard returned to New Zealand on Tuesday, after spending a year in England. Mrs. C. S. Gibbs, Christchurch, will arrive on Sunday on a holiday visit to Wellington. Mrs. W. L. Foster and Miss C. Foster, of Wellington, are at present in Christchurch. Miss Mary Maclean, Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs. W. S. Wheeler, Eastdale StreetMrs. Wrybrance Olphert, Lower Hutt, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. A. J. Arlidge and Mrs. Nixon have returned to Woodville after a short holiday spent at the Women’s Institute cottage at Paraparaumu. Mrs. B. Andrew, New York; Mrs. Vera Dawn, Vermont, U.S.A., and Mrs. L D. Duncan, Wanganui, are among the guests at the Midland Hotel. Miss Helen Gard’ner, who has been on holiday in Dunedin, returned to Wellington this week. Misses Dorothy E. Precious, of Paremata, and Catherine Margaret McConachy, of Levin, were among the successful candidates in the recent intermediate examination. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Hempton and Miss Moya Hempton and Mr. A- K. Hempton, have returned to Wellington, after a holiday in the South Island. Miss AlcVay, Napier, who is with Mrs. Graham Robertson, Hobson Street, will go to-day to stay with Mrs. A. V. Allen, Burnell Avenue. Mr. and' Mrs. J. A. Macleod, Hawkestone Terrace, will leave to-morrow on a few weeks’ motoring trip to Gisborne and the north. Mr. and Mrs. A. Longmore and family, Brougham Street, will return on Monday from their seaside cottage at Rona Bay. Miss Mabel Hay, matron of the Te Kuitl Public Hospital, who was with Mrs. F. Al. Reid, Karori, has gone to Dunedin to stay with Mrs. Henry Reid, Mornington. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ward, who have been the guests of Mrs. W. L. Ward, Molesworth Street, are leaving on Monday for Auckland, to travel by the Aorangi for Honolulu, where they will break their journey before going to their home in America.
