BODY ON BEACH
Discovery at Petonc Lying ou the beach opposite the Gear Meat Company’s works at Petone, the body of a man was discovered about 1.30 p.m. yesterday. A suit of clothes, which is believed to be the property of the dead niau, was subsequently found on the Petone wharf. There were no marks of identification, the only article in the pockets being a watch chain. The body was that of a man between 55 and 60 years of age, well built, sft. lOin. in height, with grey hair going bald on the top. The man was clean shaven, and his bottom set of false teeth was missing. The body appeared to have been in the water for two or three days, and there were mo signs of violence. An inquest will be held.
