CITY COUNCIL LOANS

Renewals Sanctioned At a special meeting of the Wellington City Council held yesterday afternoon certain formal resolutions confirming loan renewals were agreed to. The Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, presided over a bare quorum of members. The loans referred to are the Wellington City (part Melrose district) Drainage Loan (1908) Renewal Loan, the Wellington City Overdraft and Sundry Works Loan, 1898, and the Wellington City Milk Supply Loan, 1933. The customary resolution respecting special rates in connection with the above loans was also passed. Regarding the Sanitation Loan No. 1 Renewal Loan (£165,000). the position was that the sinking fund for that loan, due on May 1, was £4200 in excess of the total, but the new exchange would complicate the clearance of the loan.
