SECRETARY RETIRES

Wanganui Education Board Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, Jan. 25. After 37 years as secretary of the Wanganui. Education Board, Mr. W. H. .Swanger has retired. At to-day’s board meeting, he was farewelled by members, and presented with a morris chair. The chairman, Mr. E. W. Heining-' way, referred to Mr. Swanger’s service, extending over a long period of years, and paid tribute to his ability and personality. Members endorsed Hie chairman’s remarks, and trusted that Mr. and Mrs. Swanger would have a happy retirement. A motion of appreciation of his services were recorded in the minutes. Mr. Swanger ceases connection with the board at the end of the month. He is succeeded by Mr. J. H. S. Bree, who has been 19 years in the Wanganui board’s service.
