NOTED OPERA SINGER

Death of Signor Folli

New Zealanders will regret to learn of the death in Sydney of Signor Antonio Folli, of Melbourne, who was in Wellington recently with the Imperial Grand Opera Company. Signor Folli first came to New Zealand as interpreter and representative of the Italian members of the company with the Gonzalez organisation, on which occasion he made many friends. Signor Folli was later selected to proceed to Italy in connection witli the negotiations with artists for the Imperial Grand Opera Company, on behalf of Australian interests, and his'services proved of the greatest value to those concerned. He was equally at home in English or Italian, had a comprehensive knowledge of the grand opera repertoire and the operatic tern/ perament, and his tact and diplomatic manner smoothed over many difficulties during the tours with which he has been connected.

When in New Zealand Signor Folli was enjoying the best of health, and the news of his death will come as a great shock to his friends throughout the Dominion.
