BATHER DROWNED

Undercurrent Too Strong Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, Jan. 25. A' verdict of accidental drowning was returned by the district coroner, Mr. E. Goodbehere, at Awahuri yesterday when au inquest was held Into tiie circumstances surrounding the death of Edward Webster, farm employee, aged 38 years, who was drowned at Tangimoana on Sunday. Mr. Pask said he had seen Mr. Webster standing in water up to his knees, but on looking around again he noticed he had disappeared. Witness swam to tiie spot where he saw Mr. Webster coming up, but the undercurrent was too strong for him to do anything. In delivering his verdict, the coroner commented on the danger of bathing on certain portions of the Tangimoana beach.
